Ariana Grande and Kid Cudi Take on The End of The World in Their New Single "Just Look Up"

In Netflix’s new film Don’t Look Up, Ariana and Kid Cudi created on-screen magic. With the release of their new single, “Just Look Up,” the actors and artists took their collaboration from the film and shifted into the booth.

“Just Look Up,” taken from the soundtrack movie Don’t Look Up, portrays the story of lovers in the final moments before disaster strikes.

The video follows a graduate student and her professor as they embark on a media tour to raise awareness about a dangerous comet that is heading directly for Earth. Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio star in the picture, which also boasts cameos from Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill, Cate Blanchett, and Tyler Perry.

Netflix’s official synopsis of the film reads:

Kate Dibiasky (Jennifer Lawrence), an astronomy grad student, and her professor Dr. Randall Mindy (Leonardo DiCaprio) make an astounding discovery of a comet orbiting within the solar system. The problem — it’s on a direct collision course with Earth. The other problem? No one really seems to care. Turns out warning mankind about a planet-killer the size of Mount Everest is an inconvenient fact to navigate. With the help of Dr. Oglethorpe (Rob Morgan), Kate and Randall embark on a media tour that takes them from the office of an indifferent President Orlean (Meryl Streep) and her sycophantic son and Chief of Staff, Jason (Jonah Hill), to the airwaves of The Daily Rip, an upbeat morning show hosted by Brie (Cate Blanchett) and Jack (Tyler Perry). With only six months until the comet makes impact, managing the 24-hour news cycle and gaining the attention of the social media obsessed public before it’s too late proves shockingly comical — what will it take to get the world to just look up?!

Last August, Nicks — who was scheduled to perform at the Jazz Aspen Festival, BottleRock Napa Valley, Austin City Limits, and New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival — pulled all remaining festival appearances for the year citing a rise in Covid-19 cases throughout the United States.

“While I’m vaccinated, at my age, I am still being extremely cautious and for that reason have decided to skip the five performances I had planned for 2021,” she wrote in a statement shared to social media. “Because singing and performing have been my whole life, my primary goal is to keep healthy so I can continue singing for the next decade or longer. I’m devastated and I know the fans are disappointed, but we will look towards a brighter 2022.”
