Benny The Butcher Explains His Absence From Drake And Kanye West’s Latest Albums

Benny The Butcher is a member of Buffalo’s gritty Griselda collective, one of the most active in the world of music. So far in 2021, the group has released three albums and a mixtape, with more on the way in the coming months. Griselda’s rappers have also contributed to a number of songs, the most recent of which is Kanye West’s “Keep My Spirit Alive,” which features Conway The Machine, Westside Gunn, and KayCyy and is taken from West’s ninth album, Donda.

Many people wondered why Benny The Butcher was not included in the song, and the rapper recently reacted to the subject and mentioned another upcoming collaboration with a well-known rapper.

When asked about his absence off the Donda track during a Twitch interview with Connected, Benny responded, “I don’t think Ye wanted me on there.” “It doesn’t bother me, but it’s fine.” I’ve got all kinds of rapper homeboys who are pals, dope, and legends. I’m not going to inquire why I’m not on an album every time they release one.”

Benny also discussed his long-awaited collaboration with Drake, as well as why it wasn’t included on Certified Lover Boy.

“Drake, Drake, Drake, Drake, Drake, Drake, Drake, Drake, Drake, “Ain’t no telling where that song gon’ land since he’s the biggest artist in the world,” Benny added. “We got the song, and I played it for all the homies,” says the narrator. It’s a vibe, and he has to put it where he sees fit.” “I feel like it would have fit in and definitely would have shaken things up,” he continued, “but I also see why he didn’t put it up there.”

In the post above, you can see a clip from the interview.

Dr. Dre Receives Divorce Papers At Grandmother’s Funeral

Dr. Dre, the hip hop artist and super producer extraordinaire, was recently issued with divorce papers during the burial of his grandmother. This comes after a long period of conflict with his estranged ex-wife Nicole Young. Young filed for divorce from Dre in 2020 after 24 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. The extra 1.2 million Dr. Dre is ordered by the judge to pay to cover Young’s legal bills is the subject of the most current set of divorce proceedings being filed. While both sides allege different versions of events, it is true that Dr. Dre was present at his grandmother’s funeral or was served with the papers by a process server immediately afterward.

Dre claims he was approached while standing at the coffin of his grandmother, who he believes played a significant part in his upbringing. Dre was served in the parking lot after the funeral ceremony, according to Young’s attorneys.

Dre was hospitalized earlier this year after suffering a brain aneurysm. Dre’s home was targeted for a break-in while he was recovering from his brain injury. Dr. Dre is having a particularly difficult year in 2021 as a result of all of these occurrences, as well as his continuing divorce.

Dre released a clip of a song earlier this year after his recuperation from the brain aneurysm, which included words like “(Bitch) Trying to kill me with them lies and that perjury,” which alluded to both his disability and the pending divorce. Needless to say, this is not a painless divorce. Dre, along with longtime partner Snoop Dogg and Kendrick Lamar, will headline the Super Bowl halftime concert next year. By then, the divorce proceedings should be in the rearview mirror. Quit

Big Sean Goes Off In Freestyle Over Jay-Z, Drake & Kanye West Beats

Big Sean stopped by Power 106 in Los Angeles to show off his lyrical prowess in a new L.A. Leakers freestyle.

The Def Jam rapper rapped for nearly nine minutes, delivering a bar Big Sean kicked things off by spitting on Jay-“Dear Z’s Summer,” setting the tone quickly a decade after his last freestyle for the L.A. Leakers.

“I’ve given up wishing for the best and am now insisting on results/ If good karma doesn’t land on it first, I deal with it. Relentless how I give it all but never give in/ Just like NBA players in my girl’s DMs/ Consistently firing rounds that will never go in/ F### it, I’m only interested in creating money that we’ll never spend. My entire life feels like my blessings are arriving on time. I still despise seafood, but I’m a sucker for oysters,” he rapped.

About two minutes in, the L.A. Leakers switched things up by having Big Sean cover Drake’s “Love All” instrumental. With Kanye West’s “Hurricane” track, Justin Credible and DJ Sourmilk rewrote the script once more.

“Everything I know now could’ve been added to the equation back then/

There’s nothing better than having it all, except losing it all and then regaining it.

I don’t need a casket when I die, I need a tomb/I don’t need a casket when I die, I need a tomb/I don’t need a casket when I die, I need a tomb/

My focus has returned, and now I’m being consumed/Yeah, I’m awake with the moon/Mother Nature, so what does it mean when I die and am buried? Sean Don rapped over the Yeezy track, “I’m going back in the womb.”

Big Sean finished the freestyle by rhyming over Nardo Wick’s “Who Want Smoke?” instrumental, which was produced in Florida. The Detroit native didn’t seem phased by the shift in pace, as he altered his flow and continued to spit bars.
