The son of Cardi B and Offset is all prepared to make his debut.
The couple has now revealed the name of their son, Wave Set Cephus, seven months after expecting their second child together.
The “Up” rapper revealed the first full photos of her fashionable son lounging in a swing with two diamond necklaces around his neck on Instagram. “WAVE SET CEPHUS,” Offset captioned another shot of his iced-out infant child.
In addition, the trendy family graces their first magazine cover together for ESSENCE’s 52nd anniversary edition, which features Wave and his older sister Kulture, as well as Offset’s three children from prior relationships–Jordan, 12, Kalea, 7, and Kody, 7.
“I first met his kids after we got married,” Cardi said of her stepchildren to the magazine. “I’ve always wished for them to love me, and they do.” That’s what they tell me. I sense that, and I hope we continue to have a wonderful relationship.”
Cardi B was commended by Offset for being so inclusive. “Having them all together is a blessing, and having a woman who is open and treats them like her children is a blessing.” It could be a problem, but I don’t have to deal with it, and that’s wonderful.”
Wave was born on September 4, 2021, but his parents chose to keep him hidden from the rest of the world. “When it came to Kulture, we went through a lot of awful things–terrible behavior that not even the elder kids had ever seen,” Cardi stated. “So many people will publish deplorable things only to get a response from us.”
“We want to shield our feelings because we become very, very angry and frustrated,” Cardi said.
They also discussed their connection during the interview. “It may sound strange, but we don’t always put love first–because you may put love before work and ruin your career if you’re not focused,” Offset explained. “I’d never met a lady who worked as hard as I did and did what I did before. It piques my interest. She follows her own path. She enjoys the rush, therefore it’ll never stand in the way of our love.”
While the pair has had their share of ups and downs over the years, their marriage has been able to survive thanks to their unbreakable relationship and love for their family.
“We just grew closer,” Cardi explained. “Now we have a better understanding of one other.” It’s serious to me, and I’m committed for the rest of my life–partnership sh-t, best friend sh-t. It’s like, “OK, he’s my spouse, but he’s actually my best friend,” at times. When we’re down, we help each other out.
Nobody has my back like he does–and he knows I’ve got his back all the way, no matter what. Nothing can get in the way.”
