KANYE WEST FINALLY RELEASES ‘DONDA’ ALBUM FEATURING JAY-Z, TRAVIS SCOTT, LIL BABY & MORE

KANYE WEST FINALLY RELEASES ‘DONDA’ ALBUM FEATURING JAY-Z, TRAVIS SCOTT, LIL BABY & MORE

Donda, Kanye West’s much-anticipated tenth studio album, is now available.

The project was delayed by over a year due to a failed presidential campaign, his pending divorce from Kim Kardashian, three separate listening sessions between his birthplace of Atlanta and hometown of Chicago, and numerous tweaks to the project. However, it has been confirmed that the finalized version will be available on digital streaming platforms at 8 a.m. EST on Sunday (August 29).

To corroborate the news, ‘Ye’s manager Bu Thiam posted an image of a seated ‘Ye from the Chicago listening session next to a younger version of him on Instagram.

Each listening session was as visually arresting as it was musically. On Thursday (August 26), ‘Ye launched the Chicago listening session by standing on a mock-up of his childhood house, flanked by DaBaby and provocative rock singer Marilyn Manson.

Due to his comments at Rolling Loud Miami in July, DaBaby has been criticized in the media. Manson is accused of a slew of sexual assault charges, and he “conceptually” contributed to the album.

Fans were treated to a surprise performance by ‘Ye, who performed a cover of the song “Jail,” which formerly featured his Watch The Throne counterpart JAY-Z, but with a verse from DaBaby instead of Hov’s.

After DaBaby’s manager refused to authorize Hov’s verse, the rapper’s verse was re-added to the completed version, much to DaBaby’s chagrin.

DONDA was supposed to be released on September 3rd, the same day as Drake’s Certified Lover Boy, according to fans and reviewers.

After another round of subliminal shots between the two, including Drizzy’s not-so-subtle attacks on Trippie Redd’s “Betrayal,” the 6 God used ESPN’s SportsCenter on Friday (August 27) to tease the album’s release date and prolong their cold war.

The Weeknd, Jay Electronica, The LOX, Young Thug, the late Pop Smoke, Pusha T, Travis Scott, Lil Baby, Fivio Foreign, and Kid Cudi, among others, appear on the final version of Donda, which you can listen to below.
