Kim Kardashian shares Kanye West divorce joke she asked to be cut from SNL: ‘It’s super sensitive to him’

Kim Kardashian has claimed that a joke about her divorce from Kanye West was deleted from Saturday Night Live after she requested it.

In October, the reality TV star presented the weekly live entertainment event, during which she made her first appearance with future boyfriend Pete Davidson.

Kim was seen prepping to host the new reality show The Kardashians in the most recent episode.

While she would go on to laugh about her breakup with West in her opening monologue, she said that she wanted a second joke from “The People’s Kourt,” in which Kim played her sister Kourtney as a TV judge, to be deleted from the sketch.

West would be played by SNL cast member Chris Redd, who would ask Kim, who is studying to be a lawyer, if she could represent him in their legal case.

“For him, the divorce is quite painful,” Kim explained.

“I’m already saying that section in the monologue… Maybe I’ll chat to Chris and come up with something amusing. ‘Hey!’ I could just say. To him, this is quite sensitive.’

“I married the best rapper of all time,” Kim declared in her introductory monologue. He’s also the wealthiest Black man in the United States.

“A gifted, genuine genius who blessed me with four incredible children.” So you have to understand that when I divorced him, it came down to one thing: his personality.”

In February 2021, Kim and West filed for divorce. They have four children together.

Kim had previously stated that she wanted West to be her musical guest on Saturday Night Live, but that the experience had left her “stressed out” on the previous episode of The Kardashians.

The Kardashians airs on Disney Plus in the United Kingdom and Hulu in the United States on Thursdays.
