Tory Lanez appeared in court on Tuesday (December 14) for a preliminary hearing in his felony assault case, where a Los Angeles Police Department investigator claimed he instructed Megan Thee Stallion to “dance bitch” before allegedly shooting her in the feet. Megan Thee Stallion’s story of what happened has been put into question by additional witness testimony.
According to TMZ, a detective said in court that Megan and her friend Kelsey got into a verbal argument moments before the pistol went off, according to an independent witness. The muzzle flash of the gun, according to the witness, was closer to Kelsey than Lanez. Megan Thee Stallion, on the other hand, was outraged by TMZ’s initial coverage and took to Twitter to criticize the outlet for obfuscating the fact that she was shot… with a gun.
“Aren’t blogs/journalists required to have reliable sources before publishing a story?” she penned “Or is it just the new I was paid to post this or I heard from a home girl policy these days?” Why do I have to relive this with everyone on the internet every day because I was SHOT and the focus of some of these articles is disregarding the fact that I was assaulted with a WEAPON WHILE I WAS UNARMED and attempting to depict it as a cat fight between friends? And keep an eye on how you’re going to gaslight me.”
“Fact is… even if there was a dispute with Kelsey inside the SUV, we know Megan was shot while she was standing outside the vehicle,” the Los Angeles-based outlet promptly revised its story. Megan admitted that she got out of the car because she didn’t want to fight any longer…As a result, the disagreement is practically irrelevant to the instant the trigger was fired.”
After a night out with Keeping Up With The Kardashians alum Kylie Jenner in July 2020, the event occurred. When Tory Lanez, Megan Thee Stallion, and a few of their pals were riding in a black SUV, a fight erupted. Tory Lanez was arrested for hiding a weapon after Megan Thee Stallion was shot. Megan originally remained silent about who fired the gun, but eventually placed the accusation at Lanez, who has maintained his innocence ever since.
Tory Lanez was charged with felony assault in October 2020, despite his assertions of innocence. Lanez is set to return to court on January 13th. Meanwhile, HipHopDX has requested a statement from Megan Thee Stallion’s camp.
