Nas Gifting Fans With Surprise Album ‘Magic’ Ahead of Christmas

Nas will release a new album just in time for the holidays.

On Thursday (Dec. 23), the renowned rapper took to social media to reveal the contents of his upcoming album, Magic, which will be released at midnight on Christmas Eve through Mass Appeal Records.

“MAGIC is in the air,” says the narrator. “Midnight et brand new music to vibe to,” Nas posted beside the album’s cover art on Instagram.

The nine-track album was produced by Nas’ longtime collaborator Hit-Boy and features guest appearances by A$AP Rocky and DJ Premier on the track “Wave Gods.”

Nas released King’s Disease II, his follow-up to 2020’s King’s Disease, over the summer. The album earned the hip-hop legend his first Grammy Award for best rap album, and it reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Nas also marked the 25th anniversary of his sophomore studio album, It Was Written, earlier this year. He’s released 25 Billboard Hot 100 tunes since his 1994 debut, Illmatic, including two top ten successes. I Am…, Hip-Hop Is Dead, Life Is Good, and Untitled all charted at number one on the Billboard 200.

Below are Nas’ Instagram announcements for his next album, Magic.
