The Instagram page has since been deleted.
As the Queen of Rap, Nicki Minaj is probably not surprised to find herself trending on Twitter, but on Monday (August 1), she didn’t hesitate to confront the false claims that had been making the rounds online and turning her name into a hot topic of discussion.
In case you missed it, over the past several days an internet account purporting to be the former assistant of the Pink Friday hitmaker has been leaking all kinds of information and accusations about the mother of one.
According to The Shade Room, Kate Miller, who held the page’s registration, posted nearly 50 times in what appeared to be an effort to discredit Minaj. One of them said, “I am Onika’s former assistant, who she fired for absolutely no proof of fraud with her bank account.”
“I’m disclosing every file I have from my time spent working for her. Along with the voicemails she gave me about several individuals.”
The account owner continued by claiming that the Trinidadian musician owes the IRS $173M in unpaid taxes, that she paid for the chart placement of her next single “Freaky Girl,” and that she named her baby Amadeus Cyril Petty against Nicki and her husband’s wishes to keep the name a secret.
Minaj quickly joined Instagram Live to quell the rumors. She informed the audience, “Every day I discover that y’all getting dumber and f*cking dumber.” I saw this entire fanbase the other day when browsing Twitter, bitch.
“They annotated an entire spreadsheet with the words, “This is what we’re about to do to finally get rid of Nicki.” They were saying all kinds of garbage, and I remember thinking, “Wow, how awful is this?” “She went on.
Minaj generally appeared shocked that anyone would think the page might be legitimate. She exclaimed, “I am mind-blown that people are this f*cking dumb.”
“People actually think that I hired someone to work for me because they are leaking tea. Chile. It’s not even that, though. It seems really ridiculous, and you would have to be stupid to believe it. It’s obviously a child.”
