R. Kelly is currently facing federal charges in New York for sexual assault claims that date back decades. The feds allege in new court records that the beleaguered R&B artist committed more terrible uncharged crimes, including abusing an adolescent child with dreams of making it in the music world.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Kelly met the unknown man in 2006 at a McDonald’s when he was 16 years old. Before having sexual contact with the boy, Kelly allegedly invited him to his studio and asked him what he would do to become famous in the profession.
According to the feds, the boy reportedly introduced Kelly to a male friend of his who was 16 or 17 at the time. Kelly and the boy began a sexual relationship several years later. Kelly is also suspected of bribing a clerk in Cook County, Illinois in 2019 in exchange for inside information about his case.
Kelly’s latest allegations come only days before his federal trial in Brooklyn on sex trafficking charges begins on August 18. He could face up to 70 years in prison if convicted.

Kelly’s time in prison hasn’t been without controversy. Despite repeated requests for his release due to the COVID-19 outbreak, he remains imprisoned. He was assaulted at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in August 2020 by an inmate who said guards he did it because “the government told him to.”
