After then, Instagram user Sarah (@books n babies) posted about the quilt a week after the Met Gala.

“So my great grandmother’s quilt was donated to an antique/thrift store a while back,” Sarah wrote in an Instagram caption. When I first saw the #metgala photo, I knew it had to be the same quilt. After reading the Vogue article about the designer discovering the quilt in Southern California, I insisted that my mother go get images of it on our old bed, as his business is not far from us in Venice. It appears that great grandmother Mary attended the #metgala.”

Sarah further clarified that she was not accusing Linnetz of stealing the design of her great grandma.

This isn’t the rapper’s first reference to grandma-inspired style; his affection for accessories like the ‘babushka scarf’ has helped to popularize the elderly-inspired look.
