Travis Scott Lights Up Astroworld Festival With Drake, Roddy Ricch, SZA & More

Fans smashed through a barrier and rushed from security on the opening day of Scott’s Houston festival.

Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival went out today in Houston, and it’s up and running (November 5). The first day of the weekend-long festival has already diverted attention away from the Kanye West-Drink Champs story, as photographs and videos from Astroworld have began to circulate. Scott shared the stage today with SZA, Don Toliver, Roddy Ricch, Master P, and Metro Boomin’, among others.

Thousands of people appeared to be crammed into the festival’s merch section, indicating that fans were anticipating Astroworld’s comeback despite the pandemic. Others appeared to break through the festival’s boundaries and flee security in large numbers.

Scott released two new singles, “Escape Plan” and “Mafia,” both featuring J. Cole, ahead of the opening of Astroworld. The tracks serve as a build-up to the release of Scott’s long-awaited Utopia project, which he has been teasing for some time, and his event appears to be a turning point in the album’s upcoming release.

The Astroworld audience went insane when Drake showed up, and the reunion comes after Kanye West said that he sent a group text to Kim Kardashian, Drake, JAY-Z, Travis Scott, Kid Cudi, and Pusha-T telling them that he’s worth more than all of them put together. Take a look at a couple clips from Astroworld below.
